We proudly present Ebensburg, Pennsylvania's first annual, awe-inspiring, Sci-Fi Valley Con.

Sci-Fi Valley Con is a Speculative Fiction themed convention. We want to focus on more than just science fiction, but instead have an umbrella over many fantastical fiction genres, specifically science fiction, fantasy, horror, supernatural fiction, superhero fiction, utopian and dystopian fiction, apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction, and alternate history in literature as well as related static, motion, and virtual arts.

  • Mark Tierno


    Mark Tierno is an East Coast based actor best known for his role as the featured zombie Beef
    Treats in George A. Romero's 1985 film, Day of the Dead. Sci-Fi fans should also recognize Mark
    from his leading role on SyFy Networks television series The Mercury Men as Edward Dorman. In
    addition, Mark has been in films such as The Road, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, The Mysteries of
    Pittsburgh, Micah, and several other independent films.


  • Jeremy Ambler


    Jeremy Ambler is a young actor who has appearance in a number of feature films and television
    shows. He is best known for his role as a "Walker" on AMC's well known series, The Walking Dead.
    Jeremy has also appeared in films, such as; The Road, Child of God, and The Crazies. In addition,
    he has been in HBO's John Adams, The Three Stooges, American Reunion, Harold & Kumar
    Escape from Guantanamo Bay, The Dukes of Hazzard, and many others.



  • Stan Gordon


    Stan Gordon is a researcher, author, national speaker, and an award winning documentary film
    producer. For nearly 53 years he has been investigating mysterious happenings in Pennsylvania such
    as UFO and Bigfoot sightings, and thousands of mysterious events. Many of these cases occurred in
    western Pennsylvania.
    He has produced a video documentary on the nearby Kecksburg, PA UFO crash incident which he has
    been investigating since it occurred in 1965. He also have two recent books on numerous cases from
    Pennsylvania. Some cases from around Ebensburg and Johnstown are mentioned in one of his books.
    Stan will be appearing only on Saturday & Sunday.



  • Monique Dupree


    Monique is an Actress, alternative model, vocal goddess and dancer. She is often referred to
    affectionately as THA ORIGINAL GATA™,and has become an underground cultural icon. She tows
    the line between independent /genre film leading lady and the fringe of the mainstream. Loved
    ,hated, often challenged she continues to infect the very bloodstream of the horror/ sci-fi universe on
    every media level with her dominating presence and tireless work effort. You can find Monique
    Dupree’s films online or in stores such as: Walmart, Target, FYE, Food Lion & many other locations.
    Monique Dupree has done over 70 film projects to date.



  • Sal Lizard


    Sal has spent most of his adult like in the world of Information Technologies, until he recently
    embarked on a new career path as an actor and stand-comic. He has appeared in about 30 film
    projects so far. His primary goal now is to become a successful actor and start producing
    independent films under SAG low-bugget agreements. He's an avid fan of Sci-Fi and Horror movies
    and served a three-year term as the president and chairman of the board for Starfleet, the
    International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc. He continues as an actor, a stand-up comic, works as a
    professional real-bearded Santa and has recently formed a production company, LZP Films, Inc.



  • Gary Lee Vincent

    Gary Lee Vincent was born October 8, 1974, in Clarksburg, WV, USA and is an accomplished
    author, musician, and entrepreneur. He is also Co-editor of The Big Book of Bizarro, a ground-
    breaking collection of 57 bizarro-genre short stories by various authors.

    In 2010, his horror novel Darkened Hills was selected as 2010 Book of the Year WINNER by
    Foreword Reviews Magazine. Darkened Hills also became the pilot novel for DARKENED – THE
    WEST VIRGINIA VAMPIRE SERIES. Follow-up novels to Darkened Hillsby the author include
    Darkened Hollows –coming Summer 2012).

    Also by Gary Lee Vincent: Passageway – a SciFi/horror/bizarro thriller that mixes H.P. Lovecraft-
    style horror with Indiana Jones-style adventure.

  • Rich Bottles Jr.

    After an unillustrious print journalism career in southwestern Pennsylvania, Rich moved to West
    Virginia at the age of 32 to pursue a career in technical writing. He spends his free time visiting and
    hiking at the many state parks in the Mountain State, which is also where he develops the concepts
    for his novels.
    Rich is presently producing a trilogy of WV-themed “humorrorotica” and is currently working on a
    story set in the vicinity of the West Virginia Penitentiary. Rich’s novels include Lumberjacked and
    Hellhole West Virginia

    Gary and Rich will both be signing copies of their books, in addition to speaking on a panel at 11:00
    on Saturday, May 19, 2012. They will be discussing Sci-Fi storytelling and the various uses of it for
    the Sci-Fi section of The Big Book of Bizarro. (How the project came to be and how the Bizarro-genre
    applies to Sci-Fi.)



  • John Johnson


    John Johnson is a self taught filmmaker, shot his first film, Zap, when he was 8 years old. By the
    time John graduated from college, he had completed 50 No-Budget films: 5 feature lengths, 1
    television show (20 one hour episodes), and 44 shorts ranging from 2-47 minutes long. John is
    now an award winning filmmaker, writer, and the founder of Darkstone Entertainment, an
    independent film company based out of Charlottesville, VA.



  • Derek Young

    Director/Actor/Producer Derek Young is known for making things happen. His first attempt at
    making a movie was titled Family Property and it was just picked up for distribution by World Wide
    Multi Media. Family Property has Jeremy Ambler from the walking dead Alexander Isaiah Thoms
    from Cabin Fever 2 and Lloyd Kaufmn. His next movie Midnight Matinee Psycho was so loaded with
    cameos you just have to go  to the site to see it all www.midnightmatineepsycho.com and see for
    yourself. Derek also acted in The Vampires of Zanzibar which can be viewed in it's entirety on
    youtube. Finally Derek is a featured zombie from the upcoming talked about Plan9. Plan9 is the
    direct remake to Plan9 From Outer Space starring Addy Miller, Monique Dupree, and the original
    Conrad Brooks. Derek has also acted in and been the assistant director for Minnows Biscjit Special
    an action comedy and acted in several other films including Lake Effects he was an extra as a bar
    patron, he was the bar tender in Back From War and a soldier
    extra, He was also in The Light from Arta Nova films. Climbing the ladder and doing what he loves
    and doing it good no wonder Derek Young is a hot new up and comer.


  • Blair Murphy

    Blair Murphy is an independent film director, producer, editor, actor, and writer and the owner of
    Empyre Films. A native of New Jersey, Murphy earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinema at
    University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. He spent a decade in the Los Angeles film industry working
    for the likes of Marvel Films, producer Stan Lee, on the Robocop movies with producers Jon
    Davison and Pat Crowly, and as a camera operator for pop music star
    Prince. He produced and directed the low-budget horror feature film “Jugular Wine: A Vampire
    Odyssey,” which was released directly to video in Blockbuster across the country in 1996. Murphy is
    currently producing and directing a new zombie feature film entitled "Zombie Dream" set in the
    Johnstown area starring Eric Roberts and Butch Patrick. Murphy's first novel, the Werewolf Lotus,
    also set in the Johnstown area, will be released and
    available at Sci-Fi in the Valley Con.


  • David Madison

    David Lee Madison developed his love for film as a very young man. At the age of five, he had already
    seen and loved all of the original Universal horror films. He got his first taste of film making at age
    nine, when he was an extra in Hero at Large, a John Ritter film directed by Martin Davidson.
    Throughout his teen years, he appeared in Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs and James
    Lemmo’s Heart starring Brad Davis. Dave’s recent work includes Thomas Churchill’s Emerging
    Past
    - a film he produced and in which he appears alongside his childhood idol, Stephen (Fright
    Night
    ) Geoffreys, in a very funny scene. His most recent endeavor, Mr. Hush, which he wrote,
    produced, and directed, has many in the horror community a buzz. It stars Brad Loree (Michael Myers
    in Halloween: Resurrection), Stephen Geoffreys (Fright Night, 976-EVIL), and Steve Dash (Jason
    Voorhees in Friday the 13th Part 2).


  • Kirk Allmond

    Kirk enjoys writing zombie novels and also administers a zombie preparedness website,
    www.zombiepreparedness.org. The sites goal is to teach any who'll listen how to survive the
    inevitable zombie apocalypse. He has been featured on major market radio programs as an expert
    in zombie survival, and consulted on two zombie themed motion pictures.
    The Zombie Preparedness Initiative is a site dedicated to not just surviving the zombie apocalypse,
    but thriving through it. Gear reviews, real strategy discussions, even recommendations on what to
    put in your Bug Out Bag, the sites 15,000 members are growing more prepared every day.

    Kirk will be guest speaking about how the Zombie Preparedness Initiative is a global project, aimed
    at making sure the entire world is ready for the inevitable zombie apocalypse. If you're prepared for
    zombies, you're prepared for anything. Preparedness is a state of mind, a state of self reliance.
    Preparedness is personal responsibility.
